Vietnam-based language learning and test prep startup, Prep, has secured $7 million in Series A funding, co-led by Northstar Ventures and Cercano Management Asia. Other investors, including East Ventures, Touchstone Partners, and Saison Capital, also participated in the round.
With plans to expand its team and enhance its learning tools, Prep aims to diversify into additional language products and markets, prioritizing personalized learning experiences for its users while ensuring profitability.
According to CEO Tu Pham, Prep’s goal is to provide every learner with a dedicated personal teacher and mentor to help them achieve their learning goals, with this investment marking a significant step toward realizing that vision.
Melvin Hade, Managing Director at Northstar Ventures, highlighted the growing importance of English proficiency in Vietnamese education and the job market, affirming Prep’s potential to revolutionize the language test prep industry in Vietnam.
Prep’s learning platform integrates proprietary AI technologies, such as AI-powered virtual speaking and writing rooms, enabling it to attract and retain users by delivering high-quality education at competitive prices compared to its peers.
